IRCTC - Check out Latest Guidelines for luggage rules in Trains


Indian Railways has set new rules for its passengers in-order to maintain proper public behaviour. Those who work on board, like TTE, the catering crew, and other railway personnel who operate on trains,
are also entitled to these rules. People that engage in activities such as smoking, consuming alcohol, or engaging in any other illegal behavior shall face severe penalties from the IRCTC.


IRCTC RULES: THE NEW ONES


  • Passengers are not permitted to use a loud tone while conversing on the phone or talking to their fellow passengers in their seats, compartment, or coach.
  • They should not use loud music without a pair of headphones.
  • Except for the night lights, no passengers will be permitted to leave the lights on after 10 pm.


IRCTC RULES: AFTER 10 PM


  • TTE cannot come and check the tickets of the passengers after 10 pm.
  • Barring the nightlight, all other lights need to be turned off.
  • After 10 pm, passengers are not allowed to have a loud conversation if they are travelling in groups.
  • The middle berth passengers can open their seats at any point in time and lower berth passengers cannot complain about it.
  • Online dining services cannot offer food after 10 pm. Yet, e-catering services allow you to arrange your meal in advance and do so even late at night.


IRCTC RULES: LUGGAGE RULES


  • On an AC bus, each passenger is allowed to bring 70 kg of baggage.
  • Luggage is free in the sleeping class, up to 40 kg, and in the second class, up to 35 kg.
  • Passengers will be permitted to bring 150 kg of luggage, 80 kg in a sleeper, and 70 kg in a second seat, with additional luggage fees.
