Reliance will launch Jio 5G across multiple key cities, including the metropolises of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

Reliance plans to subsequently increase the Jio 5G footprint month after month. By December 2023, Mukesh Amanbi promised that the company “will deliver Jio 5G to every town, every taluka, and every tehsil of our country.”

Reliance did not reveal any details about how its 5G services will be priced. However, it is likely that 5G will be offered as a premium to customers on the company’s high-value plans initially. This is a similar strategy that Airtel and Vodafone too are likely to follow.

Reliance did not give any time frame for the launch of its first 5G smartphone.The company said that it has partnered with Google to develop ultra-affordable 5G smartphones. This means that the 5G smartphones that Reliance will launch will likely be priced under Rs 10,000. Two, Reliance Jio 5G smartphone may not come this year.
