After you are registered on the IRCTC portal, you will be able to book any type of train ticket with ease.
Master List
Now, you should proceed to book the tatkal ticket on IRCTC official website. Make a ‘master list' on the ‘my profile' section. It is actually a list of passengers that you can pre-store in your profile. You can add details like age, Aadhaar number, name and other required information.
In the My Profile section, you will see the master list in the drop down. Click on it. On this page you will have to fill in the details.
Travel List
Next, create a travel list. Users must note that this list can only be made after making a master list. This will also be found in the drop down of My Profile. Go to the Travel List page. Here the name and details of the list will be asked. After this, there will be an option to select the name of the passenger from the master list. Select the names of the passengers you want to add to that list.
Using master and travel list
Using the master list, which have the details of travellers pre-saved, can help you save a lot of time. It may be noted that while selecting the name of the passengers from the master list will prove to be effective for 1 or 2 passengers, it would be better to use travel list for more passengers.
Tatkal ticket booking
Always log in to the IRCTC website a few minutes before you book the tatkal ticket. Choose the train, and destination and need not add the information again. Once all these things are done, you will be directed to the payment interface. You can make payments via credit card, UPI or debit card. This way, you can quickly and easily confirm your train ticket on IRCTC portal. By following these steps, you may get your tatkal tickets confirmed.
The peak hours of booking AC tickets start at 10 am, while for sleeper tickets it starts at 11 am, make sure you book your tickets before the peak hours.
