There are three routes through which you can do this:
I. From the EPFO website
Before you go online to track your EPF claim status, make sure you have these handy:
Your Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) account number;
EPF regional office of your employer;
Establishment or company code and extension code (if required).
The PF statement that your employer provides will carry this information. Still, if you don’t have it, you can use this link find the company code and your regional PF office.
Here is the process to check the claim status:
Visit the EPFO website link here
Step 1: Go to ‘Click here for knowing the claim status’
Step 2: On the next page, select the state where your PF office is, say Maharashtra.
Step 3: Upon selecting the state, various regional offices will be shown.
Click on the regional office relevant to you.
Step 4: On selection of the regional office, the mandatory region code and office code will get populated automatically in the respective boxes.
Step 5: Enter the Establishment Code in the third box – which can be of maximum 7 digits.
Step 6: In case the Establishment Code has an extension or a sub-code, enter the same in the fourth box. It can be a digit or letter as the case may be and can be of maximum 3 characters in size. Leave this field blank, if there is no extension or sub-code to the Establishment Code.
Step 7: Enter your account number in the fifth box which can be of maximum 7 digits.
Step 8: Click on submit to get the status
II. From EPFO’s unified portal for members
Once logged into the portal with your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password, click on ‘Track Claim Status’ under ‘Online Services’ tab at the top panel. The same portal can be used to view the transfer claim also.
Of late, the EPFO has introduced several measures to bring down the claims settlement period and has now enabled the system to aim for the settlement of claims within 5 days.
