Bird flu, which was first reported in Rajasthan swiftly made its way to 5 states of the country as a large number of deaths in crows and other birds. Bird Flu or Avian Influenza is a contagious viral disease that spreads from one bird to other birds and animals.
While the H5N1 is the most common form of the virus, it does not easily spread from human to human. Some early symptoms of bird flu include diarrhoea, sickness and chest pain. The main symptoms of bird flu are
A very high temperature

Here are a few do's and don'ts that can prevent the further spread of the avian flu-
Dos
Avoid coming in contact with live birds as well as poultry
Separate the utensils used to cleaning and cooking meat
Make sure the meat is cooked until its steaming hot
Wash your hands with warm water and soap repeatedly, especially if you have handled raw poultry
Don'ts
Do not go close to or touch dead birds or their droppings
Do not go near live animal markets or poultry farms
Do not eat undercooked or raw poultry or other birds
Do not eat raw eggs
