Health Ministry has declared that the first and second confirmatory tests for COVID-19 will be free for all the citizens. Coronavirus has been declared a pandemic now, and the number of cases have gone past 100, and the number of patients succumbing to the disease is 2.
In addition to this, the Government has also announced that 52 centres will be opened for testing of the disease across the country.
Sanjeeva Kumar, Special Secretary, Ministry of Health, has confirmed that the first and second confirmatory tests for Covid-19 will be free for all the citizens of India. He also said that the country has enough capacity for this but only 10 per cent of the capacity has been utilized each day so far.

The Health Ministry states, “The helpline service will note down your contact details and contact you with the testing protocols of COVID-19. If you qualify as a case for testing as per the protocol, you will be tested at a Government approved lab only.”
