Getting your Aadhaar card has become easier than before. The Unique Identification Authority of India or UIDAI has opened 28 new Aadhaar Service Centres. In total, it aims to open 114 Enrolment and Updation centres across the country.
UIDAI has said that the newly opened centres are different from the 38,000 centres operated by Central Banks, Post office and State government.

The UIDAI plans to open 700 new Common Service Centres for Aadhaar card registration and Updation in 2020 itself. The body wanted to open these centres earlier as well but due to security issues, failed to do so. According to a statement statement by UIDAI, the Aadhaar service centres are opened for 7 days and have provided services to around 3 lakh residents.

Out of these, most were specially abled people. These kind of centres can complete 1,000 enrollment and verification processes and are operational from 9:30AM to 5:30PM. Notably, they will remain closed on public holidays.

UIDAI also plans to open 114 centres in 53 states. The enrollment process in these centres is free but subscribers need to pay Rs 50 to link mobile number and to correct any information in Aadhaar card. UIDAI will open its centres in Saharnpur, Devipatan, Mirzapur, Muradabad and Chitrakoot Mandal.

It has already opened them in Agra and Lucknow.
