Jio Fiber's IPTV STB without RF input has found itself on the web. The IPTV STB appears nothing like other Jio products we've seen n the past, despite it flaunting Jio's branding.
As per a report published by Dream DTH which
gave the internet the first look at the STB, the product is black in colour and has the Jio branding. As per the report, the new IPTV STB looks like the Roku Ultra smart streaming box. In terms of software, it comes running Android 9.0 and comes pre-installed with streaming apps and gaming apps like Jio Games.

The report further goes on to claim that the Jio TV app for viewing live TV is not available with the STB. However, there's no saying that it won't be introduced to the platform later.
As for the STB itself, the report reveals that the back panel of the device has an RJ45 port for Ethernet wire connection with Jio Fiber Modem. There is an HDMI port to connect the STB to the TV set. The STB also comes with a USB port for connecting external devices.
There is also a 3.5 mm audio out jack and a 12V DC power input port for powering the STB. There is no RF input port for DTH or Cable connection. The report also takes a lid of the remote control of the STB which also comes with a voice control feature and a dedicated recording button. It also supports the universal remote function to control TVs, adds the report.
Earlier, Jio had clarified in its annual general meeting that it would provide Live TV services exclusively through its MSO partners and their affiliated LCOs. However, this new STB suggests that the company may deviate from that model a little as this new STB is IPTV protocol based. Information about this STB was first shared by the publication courtesy of its forum member Aashish Anand who claims to have installed the STB in Chennai.
