Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers a range of services through its e-ticketing website, www.irctc.co.in. Other than the train ticket booking, cancellation, IRCTC tours, hotel booking, trip modification,
flight ticket booking, IRCTC also has the facility with which the passengers can track the train, check PNR status and train schedule. Users who are not having an IRCTC account are also allowed to track the train, check PNR status and train schedule from the IRCTC website.

To access any of the aforementioned facilities, a user is required to visit the IRCTC website and navigate to the ‘Trains’ option given on the homepage. Under the ‘Trains’ option, there are designated links for ‘PNR Enquiry’, ‘Train Schedule’ and ‘Track Your Train’. To check the PNR status, you can click on ‘PNR Enquiry’ option given in the drop-down menu of ‘Trains’. The link will take you to a different page on which you can enter the PNR number to check the PNR status.
Similarly, a user can click on ‘Train Schedule’ option to check the schedule of the train. On the new page opened, you can enter the train number to get the running schedule of the train. All the details including the source railway station, destination station, route, arrival, departure time at all the stations, operating days in a week, station code, the distance between the stations, train name and halt time will be displayed on the screen.
In order to track a train, a user can click on ‘Track Your Train’ option following which the person will be redirected to a new tab of National Train Enquiry System (NTES). To track the train, you can enter the train number. A fresh chart of train from the source to the destination station will be displayed.
