The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and the Indian Railways Enquiry online system keeps on incorporating various measures which can improve the ease for customers. With the facility of train ticket booking on the
IRCTC e-ticketing website, the users have the option of cancelling the train tickets, avail refunds, partial cancellation, book tourist packages, hotels etc.

In order to view the seat status on the Indian Railways Enquiry system, a person is required to know the details including the train number, journey date, source station, destination station, class of travel and quota applicable.

The availability of the seats of a particular train can be checked by visiting the direct link of Indian Railways Enquiry seat availability portal, http://www.indianrail.gov.in/enquiry/SEAT/SeatAvailability.html. On visiting the webpage, you have to enter all the aforementioned details and click on ‘Get Availability’ button on the page. The seat availability of the train on a particular date from the selected source and destination stations will be displayed on the page.
