The popular online e-commerce giant did not make any fuss about these two new developments and has introduced them in a hushed manner. These two features are already live in the app, and accessible to all, at no added cost.
Flipkart Introduces ‘Flipkart Ideas’ And ‘Flipkart Videos’
There has been news previously that Flipkart is looking to expand its horizons and take a video streaming platform under its wings. Amazon Prime already has one OTT channel platform to its name, Amazon Prime Video, and given the fierce competition that Flipkart puts up with Amazon, Flipkart was bound to venture into this field someday soon.
Flipkart has silently unveiled the two new platforms, which has been confirmed as they have reflected in the app of Flipkart.

The ‘Flipkart Videos’ does not require an explanation, but here goes: Flipkart’s Videos section is a video streaming facility, and it shows mostly Hindi and Indian content as of now. The plus point on Flipkart’s Video streaming platform is that it is completely free of cost.
In a statement, a spokesperson of Flipkart has said, “Our video content offering is focused on three primary aspects, keeping in mind our understanding of the market: free, curated and personalised. We believe that our customers shouldn’t pay extra for premium content and hence our offering is different from anything else that is currently available.”
Flipkart has already joined hands with some top OTT channels, such as Viu, TVF, Arre, Dice Media, and VOOT, and the content on these channels will be streamed on Flipkart Videos as well.
Flipkart Ideas :-
This feature of Flipkart is quite innovative, and probably the first of its kind. This is an Instagram like feed, for digital influencers and users. Flipkart has introduced social commerce through this platform and digital influencers.
Users can explore the feed uploaded by these digital influencers and also shop for products on the ‘Ideas’ tab. There are a number of options you can choose from for customising your feed, such as Food, Travel, Reading, Gadgets, Fashion, Health & Fitness, Parenting, and others.
