All the internet users can use State Bank of India's (SBI) E-Rail facility. It may be noted that if you want to book your train ticket using SBI card then, given below is a step-by-step process.
Step 1- Login to the site of IRCTC www.irctc.co.in
Step 2- If you are a first time user, register yourself on the site or login with username and password (meant for IRCTC site).
Step 3- Provide the requisite information i.e. stations (departure and arrival), date and class of the journey under the option of 'Plan My Travel and Book Ticket'.
Step 4- Select your train from the list of trains displayed by IRCTC and click on 'Book Ticket'
Step 5- Provide passenger details and confirm your address for getting the delivery of tickets. The amount of ticket will be displayed for payment.
Step 6- Choose payment option 'State Bank of India'. You will be redirected to onlineSBI website.
Step 7- Log in with username and password (meant for onlineSBI) and confirm the payment.
Step 8- On successful transaction, you will be provided with transaction Id and date of transaction.
Step 9- The ticket will be delivered by IRCTC at your place of choice. The delivery of ticket is the sole responsibility of IRCTC.
Step 10- For cancellation of the ticket, submit your ticket at a computerized counter of Railways. On cancellation of a ticket by Railways, the amount shall be credited back to your account.
IRCTC SBI Platinum card-
IRCTC SBI Platinum cardholders can buy tickets through Indian Railways website- irctc.co.in, for AC1, AC2. AC3 and AC CC and earn up to 10 per cent value back as reward points. One reward point would be equal to Re 1. They can earn one reward point for every Rs 125 spent on non-fuel retail purchases, including railway ticket purchases at irctc.co.in. They can link their IRCTC SBI Card loyalty number with their irctc.co.in login id, to redeem reward points.
Cardholders can save 1.8 per cent transaction charges, exclusive of GST and all other charges, on railway ticket bookings done from www.irctc.co.in. Apart from the rail tickets, users can book airline tickets with IRCTC at cheaper prices.
