Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) provides the facility of Suvidha trains following which the customers can book confirmed train tickets on the busy routes on the Indian Railways network.
According to IRCTC, train tickets will be issued for the confirmed and RAC passengers accommodation and waitlisted tickets can also be booked following April 01, 2016. Typically, the ticket fares for the Indian Railways Suvidha trains is higher than the normal ticket charges of similar trains on the same route.
As applicable to other trains and reservations, the maximum advance reservation period (ARP) for the Indian Railways Suvidha trains is 120 days. As per the directive implemented by the Indian Railways, IRCTC doesn’t provide any concession on Suvidha trains. The full adult fare will be charged for all the passengers irrespective of their age. The free passes/complimentary passes/warrant/concessional voucher etc, are not permitted in Suvidha trains, IRCTC said.
IRCTC charges dynamic ticket fares for confirmed, as well as, reservation against cancellation (RAC) passengers. The waitlisted e-ticket will be charged at the value of the last ticket booked for the respective class. The train tickets for Suvidha trains can be booked via IRCTC e-ticketing website, www.irctc.co.in and through the passenger reservation system (PRS) counters.
The customers are not allowed to modify the train ticket booking; the facility of duplicate tickets, cluster bookings and blank paper train (BPT) is not allowed on Suvidha trains. Only ‘general’ quota booking is applicable for Suvidha train ticket bookings. The upgradation option shall not be applicable on Suvidha trains. The passengers are required to produce one of the prescribed identity cards during the train journey for verification purpose for both e-ticket and the tickets obtained from the passenger reservation system.
Suvidha trains don’t have first AC/first class/executive class (EC)/general class/ second sitting coach. With effect from January 20, 2018, the similar refund rules are applicable on the Suvidha trains. The refunds for cancelled e-tickets of Suvidha trains will be granted automatically by the system in case of any cancellation.
