Steps to verify your Aadhaar Online

Unique identity number, Aadhaar, is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to each Indian citizen. It contains demographic and biometric information of an individual and it is very important to verify your Aadhaar number
with the UIDAI website. The verification process of Aadhaar card is simple and easy. 

Verification of Aadhaar online ensures that the Aadhaar number has been issued and is valid in nature. You can check gender, age group and other details of the person. In case of any inaccuracy in detail, the person can contact UIDAI through a toll-free number or send an email.

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI-https://uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: Choose the option 'Aadhaar services' present on the page.

Step 3: Choose the option 'Verify Aadhaar'

Step 4: Enter 12-digit unique Aadhaar number

Step 5: Now enter the security code

Step 6: Then click on 'Submit'

Step 7: The page will display details of your Aadhaar card if it exists once you the online form.

Aadhaar activation status:

Many Aadhaar cards are deactivated by the UIDAI due to non-linking of PAN card with Aadhaar, not providing complete details, or inaccurate details etc. Here is how you can check if your Aadhaar is deactivated or not:

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI-https://uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: Click 'Verify Aadhaar Number' under the 'Aadhaar Services' tab on the homepage

Step 3: Verify your Aadhaar by entering the 12-digit Aadhaar number and the security code

Step 4: Click on 'Verify' to know if your Aadhaar card is valid or deactivated. If it shows a green tick, your Aadhaar card has not been deactivated by UIDAI.
