Available against a refundable security deposit of Rs. 2,500, the new optical network terminal (ONT) device comes as a smaller, cheaper and a more limited version of the original GigaHub Home Gateway.
This new router offers support for single-band WiFi b/g/n (no 5GHz band), lacks Gigabit Ethernet ports, and includes three RJ45, one RJ11, and one USB 2.0 port on the back.
The new ONT device is currently offering 50Mbps speed
According to the information shared by Twitter user Preshit Deorukhkar, the speed on the new single-band Jio router is limited to around 50Mbps.
However, the company is bundling its voice services with the new router, meaning you'll get free calling benefits via a landline connection.
Moreover, an early adopter has also noted that the new device comes with complimentary access to Jio TV app.

Reliance Jio has been offering only the GigaFiber Home Gateway router against a refundable security deposit of Rs. 4,500.
The device supports dual-band connectivity (2.4GHz/5GHz) and is capable of offering 1Gbps speed.
Notably, under the currently available preview plan, the top speed on this router connection is limited to 100Mbps.
What's the update on commercial roll-out of Jio GigaFiber
According to reports, Jio is currently conducting Ready for Sale (RFS) surveys to identify suitable areas to install its GigaFiber service.
The company officials are reaching out to the authorities of Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) like the high-rise societies and Single Dwelling Units (SDU) such as private homes for the deployment of the service.
Meanwhile, a triple play plan is also being tested.
