Aadhaar has become one of the most important documents which is used as an identity proof for Indian residents. This 12-digit unique biometric ID is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It is used to
verify a person's identification, the permanent address and various other characteristics such as date of birth, mobile number, finger impressions, etc.

If you have applied and still not received then it may be noted that UIDAI on its self-service portal allows the users to track their Aadhaar card status. To check the status you need to keep your acknowledgment slip handy. UIDAI sends an SMS once the Aadhaar is generated on the mobile number provided by you while applying for Aadhaar card.
Step-by-step process to check the Aadhaar card status-
- Go to UIDAI website- www.uidai.gov.in
- On the homepage of the website, go to 'My Aadhaar' tab, and select 'Check Aadhaar status' from 'Get Aadhaar' head.
- On the page opened, enter your EID (Enrolment ID) which is displayed on the top of your enrolment/update acknowledgment slip. It may be noted in case you have lost your EID, you can retrieve lost or forgotten EID by your registered mobile number.
- EID is a 28 digit number in which 14 digits are enrolment number (1234/12345/12345) and other 14 digits is date and time (dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss) of enrolment.
- Enter the captcha code given on the page and click 'Check Status'.
- If is generated then you can download it from the website.
