Post Aadhaar Card has came into existence Government has made it compulsory to link your Aadhaar with government welfare-schemes thus it has become the most important documents to carryon. Aadhaar is vital proof of identity anywhere and anytime.
List of documents that can be used to get/update Aadhaar card :-
Basically two types of documents needed for Aadhaar application/update- Proof of address, and Proof of identity.
Documents accepted as valid proofs of address are Bank statement, Post office account statement, Ration card, Voter ID, Driving license, Government Photo ID cards, ID issued by PSUs, and utility bills (water bill, gas bill, electricity bill etc.) not older than 3 months, property-tax receipt etc.
Proof of Identity :-
Passport, PAN, Ration/PDS Photo Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Government Photo ID Cards/Service photo identity card are acceptable as Proofs of identity.
Other proofs accepted by UIDAI are NREGS Job card, Arms license, Photo Bank Credit card/ATM, Pensioner Photo card, Freedom Fighter Photo card, Kissan Photo Passbook, Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations, among others.
