Harley-Davidson has launched the Forty-Eight Special in India. The Sportster is priced from Rs. 10.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Forty-Eight Special measures 2,165 mm in length and has a
wheelbase of 1,495 mm. The ground clearance of the bike is 110 mm and the seat is set at a height of 710 mm. The bike weighs 247 kg (as shipped) and comes equipped with a 7.9 litre fuel tank.

The Forty-Eight Special is based on the Forty-Eight Sportster but comes with a few modifications. It has a Dark Custom style fuel tank with 70's custom tank art and 7.25-inch tallboy handlebars. The bike rides on 49 mm front forks and emulsion rear shock absorbers that have screw adjusters and split 9-spoke cast aluminium alloy wheels.
The bike is powered by a 1,202cc, V-twin cylinder engine that generates 96 Nm of torque @ 4,250 rpm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It comes equipped with disc brakes at the front and rear with dual-piston calipers at both ends.
