BSNL is finally working on implementing its 4G services in the country. The service provider recently received approval for the implementation of next-generation network and the telco also did a soft launch of the service in Idukki district in Kerala for testing. It will be a gradual roll out and will take some months to for complete process.
Now according to a report by Telecom Talk, BSNL is offering a deal for its existing subscribers who are planning to upgrade to 4G network. The company will be giving 2GB of free 4G data to all its users who will upgrade to the new SIM. The users will still be allowed to use their old SIM card but they will be limited to 3G connectivity. In order to use and experience 4G, the BSNL subscribers have to upgrade to a new 4G SIM.
The report also added that BSNL is upgrading its existing 3G infrastructure to 4G while 2G connectivity will still remain in place for users and voice calling until BSNL will roll out its VoLTE services. This will make it mandatory for all the BSNL users to change SIM card. In order to make the users happy the company is offering the free 2GB data.
The telecom operator is reportedly introducing the 4G services in some parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Apart from BSNL all the private telecom operators such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular are already offering 4G services to their users.
