Though viruses for Android do exist,
sometimes you may have mistaken for an ad or a dodgy pop-up or a slower-connection for a virus in you device. But if you’re your device has one, here is the process to remove virus.

Avoid Gunpoder virus and Android malware

All Android viruses are mostly carried with the apps installed, and if your device doesn't already have a virus, the best way to avoid is to not install apps or software apart from Google Play Store. This also holds true for the Gunpoder virus which could sneak on to your device via Nintendo game emulators installed outside Google Play.

For ensuring that you don’t accidentally sneak on to malware via apps installation outside Google Store, Go to Sttings Menu, Tap on Security option, Disable the option for Unknown Sources (allow installation of apps from unknown sources). And if you wanted to install an app from outside Google Play, check the ratings and reviews and look at the developer's site and deiced on installing.

Install antivirus apps, and there have been plenty of such apps on Play Store, some of the best being 360 Mobile Security, Avast and Lookout.

But if you believe there is virus on your device and it’s resisting you to uninstall any of the apps or letting you bypass the lock screen, you can opt for factory reset. But Factory Reset will return your device to its out-of-the-box state and remove all your data.

As an alternative, follow the guide to remove a virus from Android.

1. Keep your mobile in safe-mode to prevent third-party apps from running, including malware. To enter safe mode, press and hold Power off button to show up safe mode option. If this doesn’t work on your device, then you should Google on how to enter safe mode on your device and follow instructions.

2. Open Settings Menu and Choose Apps and view the Downloaded tab. Go through the list of apps installed and find the virus infected one, perhaps the you haven't installed it or it shouldn’t be running on device.

3. Once you find the Malicious app, click on it to open the App info page, and now Uninstall it. In few cases, the Uninstall button is greyed out. This is due to the virus being given itself Device administrator status.

4. Now, exit Apps Menu, and Go to Settings>Security>Device Administrators. You can find the list of the apps on the phone or tablet with administrator status. Untick the checkbox you want to remove and click Deactivate on the next screen. Now, return to Apps Menu and You can remove the app.

5. The virus is now off your device, and you have to restart the device to take it out of Safe mode. Install the Android antivirus app to protect you from any future viruses.
