If you’re an iPhone user using a Facebook, then there are high chances that you may be facing some sizable battery drain. The app could be blamed to be the large drain on the iPhone users batteries, especially for using iOS 9 and the reason behind it may be for constantly tracking your location using your iPhone's GPS.

that the Facebook's app is not turning inactive well, further continuing to drain the device of power, though it was to be made active as normal. Meanwhile, Facebook reports revealed that the battery drain problem will be resolved soon.

"We have heard reports of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app. We’re looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon." said a Facebook spokesperson said.
"We are not collecting background location on iOS unless Location Access is set to Always on your device and you have enabled Location History in the Facebook app," the spokesperson reiterated. The battery drain issue via Facebook has initially risen by from blogger Matt Galligan
The social networking site has rare updates for the iOS users, and Facebook reveals that that they "bring updates to the App Store every 2 weeks." However, the update is not made for the Google Play version of the app for Android devices.
iOS users can automatically update the app. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Automatic Downloads and turning on Updates."
