Sony is set to launch the Xperia Z lineup- the Z5, the Z5 Compact, and the Z5 Premium with new offerings later the year. All the three models are expected to stick to Sony's tried and true design language of metal rails and glass combination.
Sony smartphones have had more of a cult following than the big customer base, as the company hasn’t been effective in market growth. But things may change with Z5, which promises to offers loads of new features. With approaching in September, Sony is set to reveal the new Xperia flagship smartphones from 2nd September.
Xperial Z5 may apparently include a 23-megapixel sensor that can autofocus in just 0.03 seconds and take 16:9 images at 20MP, and the leaked pics shows power button, seated on the right-hand side, will integrate a fingerprint scanner. The power button however looked different from Sony’s earlier iterations in the Xperia Z series, the rounded design.
According to the leaked pics, it is noted that the fingerprint scanner is on the right side of the phone and the lower-placed volume rockers. While Z5 Compact is expected to have 4.6-inch display with 720p screen resolution, the Z5 is expected to have .2-inch 1080p screen resolution. Meanwhile, the Z5 Premium is expected to boast of a 5.5-inch screen and the Ultra-HD 4K display.
Sony might even suggest that Z5 Premium with an engraved Xperia logo, as the phone you'll want to drop into Google Cardboard for VR as well. The smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC, and are expected to have two-day battery life and Sony's traditional dust and water-resistant design.
It is likely to be seen how smartphones with such high pixels will actually perform. Sony will hold a press conference on September 2nd at IFA, the giant electronics show in Berlin. IFA is getting more exciting. What do you guys think of Sony's upcoming launches?
